You will be happy to know I have been cooking from home each weekend. I am making large batches from the recipe options. I also feel more fit. Last night, my boyfriend and I went out on a double date for the first time in a while. Our counterparts ate two HUGE cheeseburgers and downed several beers each. I opted to follow the meal plans. At first I was really overwhelmed thinking that I was going to have to prep everything. That quickly changed when I started making the recipes. The majority are fast recipes (wait till you try the parchment paper salmon!!) and they create a lot of servings so I could spread these out across the week. If I can say this… I am SO proud of myself for sticking with this and cooking for myself. I would always make the excuse that it was ‘just me’ and I didn’t want to cook for myself. I lost 11.8 lbs and 4 inches in all the right spots (chest, waist and hips). I did not stick to the plan 100% (probably 80%) on weekends and this will be my goal for the next challenge. I found that the amount of information covered and on your site to be a bit overwhelming. I do swim and workout a few times a week however I did not have time to absorb all of the information for the Heart Rate Zone training. I think I maintain a reasonable amount of exercise on most weeks. I do have more energy since I started the program and I enjoyed learning all of the new recipes. After I return from vacation in one week I am going to start over again on the challenge and continue on it until I reach my goal weight. I love the way that Angela responds to absolutely everyone. She must have a super amount of energy to keep up! Having one session under my belt should make the next one much more manageable and I can focus on other aspects of the program.

Before coming into the program I had daily issues with IBS and was just miserable. Now I have it under control and know what triggers me to feel horrible, so I avoid those foods. I feel like my toxic load has decreased immensely. Also, while I've always felt that I ate somewhat healthy, this program showed me how to better my diet and what were my best choices. I never knew how to really incorporate all the veg. and fruit and now I know! I don't eat any processed foods anymore and I'm really, really proud about that. I thought I would not lose any weight, as I am not considered overweight. But, I lost almost 8 pounds. I really liked the meal plans and it made it easy for me to keep on the plan. I planned on doing all of the extras like the add 20 and improving my sleeping habits, but I could not keep up with it all. I lost 5.5 pounds and 5 inches. I was already at a healthy body weight before the program started but had a doughy region around my waist/hips that is now all but gone! I sleep soundly at night and wake up before my alarm feeling rested and ready to go - previously I would hit the snooze at least twice. I feel calmer and more prepared to handle life challenges ahead. I don't feel full or icky after eating, which leads me to believe I have some gluten or dairy intolerance I wasn't aware of (will transition back to these one at a time and see how I feel). Not sure about how many inches I've lost because I didn't seem to measure exactly the same way consistently and keep finding no change when I measure. I am no longer constipated. I lost 7 lbs. not sure how many inches but it was noticeable. I get 7-8 hours of sleep a night. I am less stressed. However I would like to work more on becoming even less stressed. I bought a fit bit. It helps me reach and strive for my goals. I'm really glad I did this program. I will continue eating this way so I don't get constipated again. I have had that problem for a long time and nothing ever helped . I was always in pain and bloated. So thank you. Unfortunately, I did not follow through with the pedometer (and I have one!), the exercise, the increased sleep, or the meditation, which I sorely need. I know I lost inches, even though I did not track them, because my clothes were looser. I couldn't wear some pants without wearing a belt to help hold them up. I am very excited overall with how I did. After the 28 day challenge I remain smoke-free. I have lost 10 pounds - 2 inches from my waist and hips, 1 inch from my thighs. I am more mindful of sleep and movement, generally hitting my goal to sleep 7 1/2-8 hours a night, when before I was often doing between 6-7. Another great benefit is my attentiveness to drinking enough water. I had gotten bad about this - 1-3 glasses a day. Now I am at 7-10. Doing the challenge again after a year and a half provided the momentum I needed to get back on track with healthy habits I learned the first time. It realigned me with my values, and renewed a sense of pride and joy in my body.

I'm a member of your 28 Day REV Clean and Lean Challenge and will be begin week three in a few days. It is THE most thought provoking, thorough, detox and diet reform I've ever experience and stuck with! I wanted to personally and publicly thank you because I haven't yet completed the challenge and you've changed my life! I highly recommend not only that everyone visits your site and takes the challenge ( cleanandleanrevolution.com ), but that they rethink what their health is worth and revisit what "healthy" diets really entail. I've always been a fitness nut and thought I did not need a nutritionist to sort out my diet because I ate healthy foods. However, I recently discovered I was totally off base thinking a helping hand from a nutritionist would be silly for someone like me. The food is very tasty and the diet lifestyle becomes, like anything else including your current eating habits, second nature...with the added bonus of feeling 120% better than you do right now. So many pesticides and preservatives make eating on the go in our society incredibly convenient for busy schedules and incredibly inconvenient for a healthy body. I no longer need to binge on coffee for energy, and my sleep schedule has completely changed for the better! It's really surprising hoe much diet effects everything regarding your body's ability to function properly-you are definitely what you eat. You can't make a better investment that one for your well being. I can't say enough good things about Angela, so thank you thank you thank you!!!

I lost 6 lbs and 17 inches overall. The sleeping part I need to work on. I wake around 5am and am not sucessful in sleeping beyond 6 to 6.5 hrs. I'm not very fond of the job I currently do and try to enjoy my evening as much as I can so I don't get to bed before 10-11pm. My stress levels have improved mainly due to the training program. I used to walk on a daily basis and do some resistance training but the interval and longer resistance trainings help even more with the stress. Getting to the 10,000 steps every day is a challenge as I work from home but once the weather improves I'll be able to go outside to walk in addition to doing interval on the treadmill. Overall I do have to say that this has been a very positive experience and in no way ever felt like a 'diet'. Instead this is definitely a life style change and the weight loss/loss of inches is an added bonus! I feel better than I have in a long time and to be able to say that at the age of 48 is a great thing! So a very big 'thank you' and I'm looking forward to the next year of working with you!

I just wanted to say thank you Angela, my crazy busy life made it difficult to be as involved online as I would have liked. I started a new job two days after the challenge started; I'm in the process of getting my house ready to put on the market, and doing it almost all by myself due to recent divorce. I still managed to cook most of the meals and they were delicious, my 17 year old daughter did this with me and she loved all the recipes also. Funny thing is, I am used to working out regularly, but since I started my new job, I have barely been able to fit in my exercise. I still lost 5 bls, but probably would have lost more if exercising, although I only really wanted to lose about a total of 8lbs anyway. When I started this plan, my only focus was to lose weight. since I cannot starve myself or go on low-carb diets, I thought this plan could help. I don’t feel like I am always running around anymore though I still work a lot. I get at least 7-8 hrs of sleep in contrast to 4-5 hrs of sleep before. Thanks a lot for all the guidance.

One of the main reasons I decided to do this cleanse was the results of my last cholesterol test in December. The dr. wanted me to return and talk about my levels. I asked them to mail me the results and my total was 205. When this challenge was offered I decided to see if really changing my diet would help. I went to a free screening 2 weeks ago and received the results this weekend. Total is now 190 and I've lost 7 lbs. I've added an extra hour of sleep, extending from 7 hr to 8, consistently used the healing meditation, the opening heart meditation (THANK YOU for including these, by the way - I felt they were essential for what occurred in my life), and the 1 hr music audios. In December, i weighed 285 and was bound and determined not to hit 300. By the start of the program i weighed 270 (and I am only 5'4"). I weighed yesterday and was down to 259, but for me the looseness in the clothes is more satisfying than the number on the scale. I definitely think I would have done better if I could have reduced more stress and slept better and those are definitely things I plan to work on more over the next year through the continued program.

Three weeks into the program and I have lost 10 pounds. I lost inches on every measuring site. I have sleep apnea, which I am addressing so improvement in sleep will come later. I followed instructions about getting away for any screen an hour before going to bed. My stress level improved with my new positive attitude and new bedtime routine. Angela, thank you for the program. It was perfectly suited for me. I am (was) an active 57 year old with poor eating habits. I wanted to lose 10 pounds and learn about proper nutrition and I found out a lot more than I thought I would. I went from 185 lbs to 172 and feel great. I had a blood draw 2 weeks in and my HDL was down from 170 to 140. Your approach is very practical and easy to understand. I particularly liked the weekly planning concept. It taught me how to plan ahead to make the "newness" translate into "habit" very easily. While I'm sure I'll go back to meat in moderation, I realize now that I don't need it. My favorite recipe is the paleo banana and date muffin. I give this program a 10 out of 10.

The information in the Manual on cortisol was particularly useful for me -- how I wish that I had that information ten or even 20 years ago!! It would have made a huge difference in my health, but it is never too late. The information about hormones, sleep, and health is powerful and I really felt that if I just let that information 'jell' in my brain. It's a great program, I love the way that you set it up, I now listen to meditation music prior to bedtime, and the reminder to really get to bed on time and get plenty of sleep was worth the experience for me.

I have had a problem with insomnia since my first pregnancy 12 years ago. It would take me hours to fall asleep then any tiny noise would wake me and I'll be up for the day, only getting about 3 hours of sleep a night. After the first week on the challenge I was sleeping 8 Hours!! My husband and I couldn't believe it, I've tried so many things including prescription meds in the past and nothing worked until this challenge. Thank you! I have been a vegetarian for about 5 years now but wanted to learn to be a "better" vegetarian. I didn't quite understand how to get all the nutrients I need and cooking meats for my family I often got lazy and would just eat the sides to the meals. I needed a change. This challenge has helped me to understand the balance of proteins, grains, veggies and my own body. I have never eaten so well! Because I get obsessive about numbers, I weighed only twice and didn't do measurements. In the last 3 weeks, I lost 5lbs. I am guessing I lost 3-4 the first week, for a total of 8-9lbs! All my clothes, shirts and pants fit so much better, so I know I lost inches everywhere! My sleep hours are the same, but I am sleeping better and waking rested. I have consistent energy through the day and have incorporated lots of positive habits into my mornings, like Bible study and walking. I need to get my cholesterol checked, and am hoping the numbers went down. First, I want to say that the new structure, compared to the Vegan challenge, is awesome! So much more attainable in regards to moving towards plant based eating. And all of the other elements of stress reduction, sleep, exercise, etc are fantastic and also attainable habit changes.

I gave up dairy for 1 full week and plan on moving to eliminate it totally (except for the occasional East Coast pizza - my most favorite food). Though I have very little and what I do have is either from Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, I stopped eating my daughter's snacks. I am more aware of my need to sleep 8 hrs and aim to do it. I actually started using my elliptical that has sat for a long time. I just joined Weight Watchers and plan on applying the whole food/life things you taught me to their calorie restriction plan to lose the weight. I eat well, but I eat too much. Oh and on my commute home yesterday (45 minutes for 15 miles) I was listening to a talk show where people were calling to complain about their favorite item being discontinued. Everyone that I heard called to complain about 3 D Doritos, some McDonald’s stuff, cheese flavored crackers, Propel flavored water –and I thought GROSS! What’s wrong g with my state! No one complained about their favorite heirloom tomato being gone and that’s when I thought of you. So though I did not lose much weight (3lbs) I have a better mindset to get moving to lose more. Well after 32 days on your program and a loss of 18 pounds I feel better than when I was 30. No more coffee, sweets, desserts. I no longer crave sugar or salt, use my sauna everyday and look forward to my 5:45am workouts. Your program provided more than I expected BUT I now need a tailor to adjust my Hong Kong hand made suits. But thankfully my Tux fits like it never has before and I'll be wearing it out for my 30th wedding anniversary. I will not stay a pure vegan but for the most part I will follow the program for years to come. Thanks for the experience. It exceeded my expectations and was fun.

I lost about 5 lbs. More important, I became able to decrease bp meds by half. This was a surprise, since I was not cutting back on salt and did not think that my diet had been altered. in a way that would lead to this. (It is also a function of retiring from working this year , with the decrease in stress. I also felt less thirsty at night and overall less bloated (except when eating beans). Overall, I think it is a good program with great use of social media. Keep up your good work.

I lost about 8 pounds in the end (including the week or 2 after the program), which was a nice side benefit. But more to the point I felt much more aware of my digestive process and more in tune with my body's needs. Although my digestive symptoms were not entirely alleviated by the vegan diet, they did improve significantly and I am continuing to make plant based foods the basis of my diet after the program. Using the tools I learned during the challenge I am continuing to play with my diet to determine my food sensitivities and find the right balance.

I was already vegetarian, and eating relatively clean, mostly organic. However my diet was largely grain based. During the challenge, I eliminated gluten, and tried to eat a mostly plant based diet and focus less on grains. I also reduced the amount of bottled water I drank, bought a shower filter, and bought organic natural soaps and lotions. After making these changes I feel that I have more energy, my mood is enhanced, and I am a more peaceful person. I didnt drink any coffee, nor did I feel like I needed it! That says alot- I have a crazy schedule- I work both days AND nights in the ER, and generally get very sleepy from time to time because of the inconsistent schedule. I cut the dose of my depression medication in half at the beginning of the challenge, and I actually feel happier during and after the challenge. Overall the challenge was a success and I feel great! I will be joining the challenge again in the future!

I've been eating consciously for a while now . . . organic, free-range, non-gmo, plant based, etc. My biggest concern has been getting ample nutritional benefits from a limited diet. I really enjoyed learning how to balance the food choices to create complete meals. I suffer(ed) from bad headaches. Seemed to get them in the mid afternoon. I did not get a single headache the entire time I was on the cleanse. Since my food really did not change that much, I have begun to associate the headaches with caffeine. I have always loved coffee but gave it up for the cleanse. Now that that the cleanse is over, I am still not drinking coffee daily. I only have it on the weekends or special occasions. I treat it much like a dessert.

The weight on the scale did not change but I noticed my clothes are fitting loose. People have commented that I look leaner (primarily in the face) and that my skin has a glow. I also have sustained energy throughout the day because before the challenge, I would have energy in the morning and then in the afternoon I would hit a wall. Sometimes I would even take a nap when I got home from work. But now, I wake up early and feel great throughout the day with no naps! The other part that I loved was the 28-day supplements. They really helped to cleanse my body and eliminate the toxins. Before I enrolled in the program I always had the desire to try a vegan/vegetarian diet to see what kind of benefits I would experience. This challenge couldn't have come at a better time because it was what I needed to push myself and try something new. I have learned a lot from this program and experienced several positive advantages that I'm happy to say that I am now a vegetarian. I couldn't stay a vegan because the diet was too strict but I'm happy with being a vegetarian. The plan for me and my husband is that we're going to continue to eat recipes from the website during the week and splurge a little on the weekends (but still eat meatless). I have an insane work schedule that doesn't allow me time to cook, or shop on a regular basis. In addition, going out for breakfast with my son once a week is my only social activity, and I never intended to give that up. HOWEVER, I did intend to learn about nutrition and so while I didn't follow instructions, I did participate. I kept the food diary and stocked my kitchen with the foods from the shopping list (except yogurt, which makes me gag). I studied the nutritional balances in your very-comprehensive book, and concocted some interesting recipes. I love veggies, and mixing in seeds and flax seeds and crumbled tofu isn't much of a stretch. I LOVE the lemon water and used it to cut my coffee consumption dramatically. I've always been skeptical of veganism, especially since I have five laying hens and recognize how thousands of years of animal husbandry have made the "vegan" cause incredibly wasteful (a modern chicken lays an egg every 26 hours, whether you eat it or not, and meat birds have been bread to die of heart attacks, etc. within 6 months of their hatching due to their quick growth). My laying hens love cooked quinoa on a cold winter's morning and nuts and veggie greens, and by feeding them all the weeds, kitchen leavings, and extra produce from a veggie garden they are the ultimate nutritional recyclers. BUT I also realize that my family's cultural tradition--my German grandma's wheat-based, high-carb/fat/calorie cooking--isn't relevant to folks who don't work a farm. I incorporated eggs into many tofu- and veggie based recipes, making interesting variations of Iri dofu. I've played with nut milks as alternatives in cooking and baking. And I have embraced quinoa as a great carb alternative (it's good mixed with rice too). It's also kinda interesting to grow, along with soybeans if anyone is so inclined. So while I don't feel that I earned the medal, I did learn a lot by following from the sidelines. Angela has put together a beautiful program – I enjoyed every bit that I participated in.

I lost 5 lbs but also lost inches and swelling. my overall diet is improved and I find myself having more energy and sleeping much better. I feel the difference in my hair (though I realize part of that can be hormones too). I wasn't sure what I needed or what would work for me. I listened when I could and read everything usually the links too and learned a great deal. I followed the program about 80%. I have been going through some medical issues and at this point I am "pre-diabetes" with also a possible diagnosis of "celiac" and "hormone imbalance" but we are monitoring my blood sugar levels and food intake in a log to give me a better idea of my issues. While diabetes and Celiac disease are a big part of my day to day life (my father and daughter), I myself have not dealt with it for me. The Vegan Challenge taught me a lot and also seemed to work for me. I am able to incorporate it into my lifestyle on a much more prevalent level. I am comfortable and I like it and I have lost 5 lbs. I need to incorporate more personal time for exercise so I need to re-evaluate and find a better balance of my responsibilities of work, ranch, children and parental care for my elderly parents. I have been a widow for 13 years and I am only 50 so I simply have to re-organize my time. Overall, I loved it! Thank you for an excellent experience.

I'm 5'11" and started the program at 178. I lost a little over 10 pounds during the program. At the end I did a 2 day juice fast and lost a few pounds more. I was especially impressed at Angela’s response time to questions on the forums and the amount of resources available before, during and after. More than I needed personally but it was great to know it was there. The manual was amazing, too. I'm just really proud of myself for doing it and I'm so happy with the weight loss that I'm going to continue to follow a good portion of the diet plan from now on (as well as being the proud owner of a kickass juicer). I am a vegetarian but wasn't eating healthy. I have read a lot about eating balance food, but was never able to come up with a daily food plan and determine the serving sizes. I wanted to learn from a resourceful nutritionist. Changing our eating habits is a big commitment, especially getting the other members of the family to follow suit. I had a hard time sticking with the program – live with omnivores and I do all the cooking. That said, I enjoyed the program and learned a lot. I joined to lower my blood pressure. I followed the program about 60% of the time and still had good results: less mucous, clearer mind, less body pains, weight maintenance, a bit more energy, but a bit more emotional. Diastolic went from 92 to 84. Still prehyp, but better than before. I felt a bit calmer, despite issues at home. Less headaches. Clearer whites of eyes. I may try this again and go ‘all in.’ I am sure that I would get even better results.

I lost 9 pounds and my knees are very appreciative. I was amazed that I could leave the caffeine behind so easily. Now I have started drinking a little coffee but don't really need it. I just like it and it is a treat. I think my inflammation issues have been better on the vegetarian diet. Spring came early to Ohio this year and I am not having as many problems with pollen. I've also noticed that my gums are less inflamed and the arthritis in my hands is slightly better. I became more conscious of everything I was doing to the extent that I realized some right heel pain was due to a poor walking posture I'd developed. My heel pain is now almost gone. The dog I am sitting has also lost weight and is looking very shiny and healthy because we've been walking 2 to 4 miles a day. I also feel mentally and emotionally clearer.

I started this program as a vegan that needed some help learning how to eat a more balance diet that would allow me jump start my weight loss. I lost a total of 6 pounds but several inches all over. I continue to lose weight and feel more in tuned with my body. Additionally, I have learned that meditation helps me to reduce my stress level and makes me feel more balanced. Loved the program! I got much more out of it than just how to eat a vegan diet. My whole schedule and outlook has changed. I wake up 1/2 hour earlier than before to do an AM yoga workout and then enjoy ginger/lemon tea every morning. I am now also doing a 45min. workout during my lunch break at work instead of sitting in the lunch area. I've lost a few pounds, my energy level is up and I just feel happier overall. Entire family lost weight (though it was not our goal); wife lost about 7 pounds, husband about 19, and kids look better though did not weight. Entire family seems to be feeling better overall so probably more in-tune, e.g. consistent moods, less hungry overall, kids had no stomach aches, etc. We discontinued volume eating replacing with moderate/fairly measured portions according to the program. It took several weeks of 'mindful eating' though our bodies have adjusted to smaller portions.

The entire project was fantastic for me. I had had enough with my weight and decided that this would be a good way to kick start myself! I lost 13 pounds, but more than that, i discovered how much convenience food had been worked into my family's life. Most of it, not healthy. I loved making fresh vegetable based soups, I fell in love with brown rice and wild rice all over again and I realized how much I had missed vegetables. My family had been getting by with just the occasional side salad or handful of carrots. I wilted spinach constantly during the month, couldn't get enough! I discovered I love quinoa and gluten free bread...which I found at many grocery stores I had already been shopping at! I am pretty sure that my stomach shrank a bit with the smaller portions....often I wasn't hungry and had to make myself have lunch! I looked forward to my hot lemon and ginger water every morning! I am actually going to continue that! Man, it tastes good! Overall....fantastic experience for me. I learned so much, I feel and look so much better and I lost my need for several cups of coffee and honestly, I don't even think I want to drink again after not having any for a month. Funny how that glass of wine is really not that important after all! I hope I do a good job continuing this healthier way of approaching feeding myself and my family...they enjoyed it, too!

Although I haven't been active with the Blog, I just wanted to let you know that I've enjoyed my 28 days and learning how to eat and what to eat. I am so not tempted by white flour/sugar/butter desserts now and I'm an avid label reader in the grocery stores. I love soups and roasted veggies. I USED to drink wine and/or cognac in the evening and tea is just fine now. I am changing. I USED to eat a lot of chicken and tonight when I went to the grocery store, the look of the roasted chicken with all the fatty skin grossed me out. This 28 day challenge is over but I don't feel like eating any other way. I'm sure I'll add some foods back in. Eggs for sure. And a little cheese. I know I need to drink more water so I'll continue to work on that. The last time I weighed myself was January 11th. I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 8 pounds. I'm happy with that and I'm looking forward to continuing my healthy journey.

I want to thank you! People thought I had really lost it when I told them I was doing a month without animal products and gluten. I felt that I really needed something drastic to get me back on a healthier track. I found that my energy improved, after going through the detox period. As I am and have been on medications which are harmful to the liver, I was especially interested in the foods that helped detoxify the liver. I really hope I can keep it off. I started working out at the gym again and meditating. Angela, Thanks for hosting the program. It was an excellent opportunity for me to incorporate some good habits. I like the idea of drinking ginger juice first thing in the morning, and have been making some strong ginger tea pre-breakfast (5-7 tablespoons of freshly juiced organic ginger, a 1/4 lemon, and a teaspoon of agave).There are certainly many areas for improvement with my diet, and this was a great first step to begin getting me back on track. I think that I've changed my taste for processed or overly sweet or salty foods (all of which I craved before). A few years ago I ate a vegan diet for a year, though I did not make it a healthy diet. I consumed too much processed foods and rebelled against all salads. Now, I'm loving all the fruits, veggies, grains and beans that I'm getting in my diet. I lost a few pounds and I feel like I have more energy and a renewed interest in nutrition, healthy cooking, and working out. I love the balance that I feel in my diet, my body and my life.

I've been a pesco vegetarian for about a year and a half. The first time I tried eating vegan it was a surprise as the resort I was staying at was vegan rather than vegetarian... I suffered greatly from not being prepared. I remember saying "I don't think vegan is for me". I have to say, though, that I LOVED the information in the manual. My new favorite breakfast is the quinoa/millet cereal with a handful of nuts, cinnamon, and maple syrup!! And, as I mentioned in one of my blogs, I used to be very disciplined about meditating every day but have not done anything for quite a while. This program got me back in the habit!

I did not monitor my weight, as when I do, I feel that I allow the scale to dictate how I feel about myself. However, I found that my bloating was greatly reduced. Right now, I can ware any outfit in my wardrobe and it all fits! I also think my concentration was greatly improved. I was able to write, my profession, without the usual distraction. My yoga practice was enhanced because I had more physical endurance and mental focus to hold postures as well as spend more time in daily practice. Thank you for the regular emails, the updates to the site, the links to cooking blogs. The cooking blogs I found through the site gave me the confidence to create vegan meals for my family. I lost 4 pounds.... I had routine blood work done and was not anemic..liver enzymes were within normal(I had Chemo for Breast Cancer 4 years ago and that took its toll on my body. I found this program to be very supportive during the process and prior to getting to the cleanse portion of the program. It is a very well thought out program and gives you all the tools to be successful during the 28 days. I was amazed at resources this program has to keep you on track. Loved the recipes and there is alot of books out there to help with menus. I did not miss meat products or my morning coffee I did my yoga with my local yoga studio and did alot of walking. I have learned a new way to a healthy lifestyle. I would recommend this program to my family and friends. I lost 7 pounds and was dealing with constipation, prior to this program. The regular suggested snacks and the information about fats, proteins, and carbs gave me better ideas about how to manage these things. Besides just feeling GREAT after completing the first round, I found that I really no longer had the cravings for meat (which I had every intention of returning back to post detox), since April I am successfully maintaining a plant based diet, I implement it as vegan during the week and vegetarian on the weekends (as I just couldn't give up eggs!)....learning how to properly combine my meals was paramount to the success I had, so the education itself to me was priceless....I did lose some weight as well! I don't weigh myself so I'm not sure exactly the amount, but I definitely felt that wonderful feeling of having just the right amount of weight on my body and my clothes hung like I like them to!

I lost 7 pounds the first go-around (April) and have lost 5 more during the in between time and the June session. The biggest part for me is keeping it off which so far I have done. I have a more stable energy level, getting rid of the caffeine has done wonders for my energy and mental state. I don't have the mood swings or cravings I used to have and am very interested in choosing beneficial foods. In-between the April and June sessions I continued to eat mostly a plant based diet but did incorporate some eggs and seafood to allow for some protein variety. The first go around I think I had better luck digestively, but with both my eczema has cleared up, I don't get much acne and my menstrual symptoms are markedly reduced. Additionally, I have been borderline anemic for years, but still try to give blood a few times a year. I have been turned away From donating a couple times for being anemic, but when I went two weeks ago my hemoglobin levels were higher than ever! Overall, I have really good energy that lasts all day and still have enough to exercise after work!

Have not eaten completely plant based, but have changed the way I eat: start most mornings with lemon/ginger water & steel cut oats, added more and better variety of leafy greens, added raw nuts, have changed dinner for my family to include at least one vegetarian meal a week - with no complaints from my "meat & potatoes" husband or teenagers. :)

I have more energy throughout the whole day, I am able to be awake for 16 hrs straight, don't need any caffeine or sugar to keep me awake, I sleep less because I don't need it only 6 hrs, my face is so clear and more glow. and I notice that my waist line has sunken. I'm able to wear my 8 yrs old pants that was too tight for me. I had bad constipation before, now I go to the bathroom everyday and majority of them comes out naturally without struggling. I lost 8-9 lbs so far, its at the 3 week mark so I am very pleased. I find losing weight to be almost effortless, since it seems almost impossible to over-eat. I also find that my calorie count just comes in around 1800-2000 per day eating vegan, which is precisely what I need for weight loss. I also have found that Tofu can really satisfy for a long period - meaning 4-5 hours before any hunger shows up, so I make sure I consume with salad or something like that.

My energy is way up, my sugar cravings are way down, even my emotions are more stable and most of all, my food preferences have switched, I'd honestly rather have fruit than a cookie and a good salad over a hot dog. "Be sure to take vitamins." - Seriously?!?! This is what a well-meaning friend posted on my Facebook in response to my status about doing the 28 day vegan challenge. It really opened my eyes to people's perception about their own nutrition. I wanted to write back, "Seriously?!?! You should see what I'm eating!" I think it is amazing that people who are eating the S.A.D. believe they are getting more nutrition than what we're eating and suggesting synthetic vitamins really surprised me. Perhaps she needs to take some vitamins! I know it is possible to eat vegan and have very little nutritional value, I mean French Fries can be vegan afterall, but I've never eaten healthier in my life than I am now! It has not been easy, but certainly worth the effort. My husband, who is also a member, has had heartburn nightly for months but hasn't had one episode since we started this program! And we're eating spicy, flavorful foods so clearly that isn't the culprit! You think it could be saturated fats??? Lol. Feeling great and in control of my own health.

I wanted to thank you program so much. I have lost 15 pounds over the last four weeks. I have to tell you when I first started I was skeptical for several reasons. First I, like everyone else had tried every single imaginable diet and NONE worked. I am sure you have heard this story so many times. I have noticed that since the Vegan Challenge I do eat a smaller portion of meat and incorporate more veggies onto my plate. This year I even planted kale in my garden, a vegetable I first tried, ever, from the manual. I have to say that the Vegan Challenge helped me fine tune my eating habits by opening doors to other meal possibilities... and 4 months later those lessons are still sticking. I did steer away from the yoga about a month after the challenge was over, but started back up two weeks ago. I realized I enjoyed the yoga and the effects it h ad after a session. Overall, I still use the challenge's recipes today (mainly breakfast and snacks) and appreciate the platform the challenge gave me to help build a healthier, happier lifestyle. Thank you! What I wanted most out of this program was more energy. I was tired of feeling fatigued all the time. I just felt better in a non-specific way. I can't really pinpoint whether it was more energetic or something else - it was subtle. The main thing that I am grateful for is that the diet broke my caffeine/splenda habit that I had every morning. i have not returned to that and I am grateful. Another advantage was that it forced me to prepare my food in advance, giving me more control, and gave me a strong incentive to not eat the sweets that are always in the staff lounge at work. I was vegetarian before I started and my daughter is vegan so the food prep for the detox was not so foreign to me. But since the detox, I am now pretty much vegan. The only thing that I have added back after the detox is gluten. I thought the program was great and really quite easy for me.

I love this challenge! I feel so hyper aware of my hunger and fullness. Plus, I'm really paying attention to every meal - to make sure that there's a whole grain, protein & "color". A little over a year ago I was on Lipitor with a cholesterol level of 234 and was about 25 pounds overweight. I was also on allergy and nasal medications and had the beginning stages of arthritis in my fingers. After learning how to adopt a vegan diet through the 28 Day Vegan Challenge, my cholesterol dropped to 160, my allergies are gone, the arthritis is no longer an issue, I've lost over 25 pounds and was able to eliminate the usage of all medication. I have much more energy and feel consistently better now. My husband also joined me and at 6'6 was close to 250 pounds with a cholesterol level of 199. After adopting a vegan lifestyle, he lost 45 pounds and dropped his cholesterol to 158. Both of us just turned 60, and wish we would have adopted this non-processed, vegan way of eating long ago.
