Soak Almonds Overnight Tonight

SOAKING ALMONDS

On the meal plan tomorrow, you might have noticed that a change in the daily snack from ‘raw almonds’ to ‘soaked almonds.’ Tonight you will soak your almonds overnight and then enjoy soaked almonds as snacks all week long.

It is nearly impossible to source truly raw almonds. The almonds that you purchase at the store, labeled as ‘raw’ are not really raw. These have been pasteurized either with steam or a chemical compound called Propylene Oxide. Almonds that have been pasteurized cannot be sprouted. Although this video will instruct you on how to soak AND sprout your almonds, you will soak your almonds overnight and then that’s it – you won’t be sprouting your almonds.

Soaked almonds are meatier and are not soggy. They are easier to chew through. They are easier to digest and the anti-nutrients are greatly reduced, making the nutrients present more available to use. This is called improving the nutrient bioavailability of the food.
