Optimize your vitamin D levels. Your vitamin D levels should optimally fall between 40-55 (25-hydroxy vitamin D test looking at ng/mL). Most allopathic doctors will tell you that a range of 20-30 is good. This simply is not true. If you were a surfer or farm worker near the equator and you were in the sun a lot, your body would naturally keep your vitamin D level between 50-60. There is no need to overshoot this number. More is not better.
Remember to your vitamin D supplement with dinner. It is a fat soluble hormone that better absorbed with a meal that has fat in it (it is fat soluble so it absorbs better when taken with fat) and it absorbs better at night (when the endocrine system activity increases activity)
